DAMPA is thrilled to offer our new reimagined community theatre experience this Summer 2024, while we await our full Fall 2024 production! Do you love the magic of broadway music, yet are drawn to the charm of NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts or The Coffee House radio station?
Ever want to be part of a fun, creative group of singer-songwriters AND fierce musical theatre vocalists? Introducing our brand new, first-of-its-kind musical theatre ensemble, Encore! In this incredible new performance series, we will be reimagining a select collection of songs from your favorite contemporary musicals to create a stripped-down, vocal performance focused show.
This summer we are kicking Encore off with its first performance series, Unplugged: Celebrating Women’s Voices in Musical Theatre! In addition to vocalists, we are excited to accept instrumentalist applications for pianists, guitar/bass players, and percussionists for this first show. Encore members will get the first opportunity to audition for our Fall 2024 production!

DEADLINE: JULY 14, 2024 | AGES 12+
VOCALISTS: Please fill out the Google form below, and also submit auditon videos that contain the following:
- State your name, age, and voice part (soprano, alto, etc)
- 32 bars of a musical of any style
- 32 bars of a contemporary song (pop/singer-songwriter/rock/etc) of your choice
- Personal statement on why you are interested in joining Encore
- Please state if you have any scheduling conflicts with the rehearsal or performance dates (rehearsals July 16th, 23rd, 30th, and August 10th, 17th, & 24th; performance August 25th)

ABOUT SIX THE MUSICAL: UNPLUGGED EDITION
Six is a British musical comedy in the style of a pop concert. Music, book, and lyrics are by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss. It is a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII, presented in the form of a singing competition.
DAMPA Encore’s Unplugged Edition creates a stripped-down, vocal performance focused version of the show. To get a feel for the vibe, check out NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts below!
