presents:

POP CHAMBER ENSEMBLE

Bridgerton Style Pop Music for String Players

A modern string ensemble experience for intermediate and advanced teen musicians

DAMPA’s Pop Chamber Ensemble brings a fresh twist to traditional chamber music by pairing the discipline of small ensemble playing with cinematic, Bridgerton-style arrangements of modern pop favorites. Students work on music by artists like Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and more, reimagined for strings in a way that feels elegant, current, and exciting to perform.

This is a unique opportunity for teen string players to build
real ensemble skills while performing music that feels relevant, expressive, and fun.

WHY JOIN THIS ENSEMBLE?

Most young string players spend their time in traditional orchestra settings.

Pop Chamber Ensemble offers something different
A chance to develop serious musical skills while performing arrangements inspired by alternative genres.

In this program, students will:

– Learn how to rehearse and perform in a small chamber ensemble
– Explore pop arrangements inspired by the Bridgerton sound and other cinematic string styles
– Strengthen listening, balance, blend, phrasing, and ensemble communication
– Work toward polished live performances at DAMPA recitals and showcases
– Experience a creative and motivating alternative to standard orchestra repertoire

REPERTOIRE & END GOALS

Over the course of the semester, students will learn and rehearse 2-3 fully arranged pop covers for chamber strings.

These pieces will be at DAMPA recitials, showcases, or other performance opportunities, giving students the chance to present polished ensemble work for a live audience.

This performance-based format gives students a clear goal and helps them grow in confidence, musicality, and collaboration.
