DAMPA is thrilled to bring the hit broadway musical Beetlejuice JR to the stage! Performances will take place February 13-16, 2025 at Artstillery in Dallas, Texas.

Beetlejuice JR is an hour-long adaptation of the cult-favorite 2019 musical designed especially for performers 18 and under. Adapted directly from the full-length Broadway hit musical Beetlejuice, the ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in this edgy junior adaptation of everyone’s favorite irreverent musical comedy based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film. Beetlejuice tells the hauntingly comedic yet touching story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, her new house is haunted by a recently deceased couple (Adam and Barbara Maitland) and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. Trying to help the newlydeads maintain possession of their home, Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse by calling his name thrice, allowing him to materialize and wreak havoc. The double-crossing specter, however, shows his true stripes…unleashing a Netherworld of pandemonium.

With music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominee Eddie Perfect and a book by Tony Award-nominated pair Anthony King and Scott Brown, Beetlejuice was nominated for eight 2019 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. A viral “sucks-yes” on social media, this musical struck a chord with young theatre lovers who adored its unabashed humor and emotional honesty.
