Odalys Mendez

Odalys Mendez teaches early childhood music education and piano at Dallas Academy of Music and Performing Arts. Born and raised in South Dallas, she began her piano career at age nine, attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts with a focus on classical piano, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Texas Woman's University. She spent four years teaching early childhood music through the Gymboree Play and Music curriculum and has since developed her own curriculum for toddlers and young children in various daycare settings using games, dancing, and singing. Her approach emphasizes making music accessible and enjoyable for the youngest learners.
