A musical beginning, at their own pace

Start with individual attention, learn alongside a sibling or friend, or share your preferences for the upcoming Music Explorers group. We’ll help you choose the setting that fits your child’s age, interests, and readiness.

Private & semi-private lessons—available now

For ages 18 months–6 years, Ms. Ody builds playful lessons around the child, using singing, movement, games, and instrument exploration.

Private lessons: one child, 30 minutes weekly, $199/month.

Semi-private lessons: learn with siblings or friends, with up to three children by arrangement. Choose 30 or 45 minutes weekly; tuition starts at $159.99 per student/month.

Parents and caregivers are welcome. Participation follows each child’s readiness, from joining in the room to growing comfortable with greater independence.

Booking windows: Monday–Thursday, 3:00–8:00 p.m. Wednesday mornings, 10:00 a.m.–noon, launch in November 2026. Choose from available times with our team.

Music Explorers—coming January 2027

Ages 3–5 · 45 minutes weekly · $199/month

Make music and make friends through singing, movement, imaginative games, and hands-on instruments. Children practice listening, taking turns, and making music together.

Share the days and times that work for your family in our short scheduling form. Your feedback will help shape the Winter 2027 timetable; we’ll share the schedule when it is finalized.

Ms. Ody blends established early childhood music approaches into DAMPA’s own curriculum, adapting activities to each child’s age, readiness, and way of learning.

Kindermusik-inspired musical play: singing, repetition, movement, and instrument exploration.

Orff Schulwerk: chants, body percussion, and simple instruments that invite creativity.

Kodály-inspired singing: songs and games that develop listening, pitch awareness, and musical memory.

Dalcroze eurhythmics: movement that helps children feel beat, tempo, and phrasing.

Gordon’s Music Learning Theory: tonal and rhythm patterns that build the ability to hear and understand music internally.

Meet Ms. Ody

EARLY CHILDHOOD DIRECTOR

Odalys “Ody” Mendez, DAMPA’s Early Childhood Director, develops and leads our curriculum. Her music education background, specialized Kindermusik training, and experience with young learners inform a warm, purposeful approach.

She gets to know what engages each child and adjusts the balance of singing, movement, instruments, and creative play as they grow. When they’re ready for more focused piano or voice study, she helps guide the next step.

A space made for little musicians

Our dedicated Early Childhood classroom gives toddlers and preschoolers room to move, sing, play and explore instruments at their level.

A first moment in the spotlight

As the Music Explorers group develops, students can work with Ms. Ody toward a group performance at a DAMPA recital. Sharing music with classmates offers a welcoming introduction to the stage.

Participation follows readiness and the event’s registration details. Enjoying the process and growing in confidence matter at every step.
