Make music, make friends, and grow

Music Explorers is a weekly 45-minute group experience for ages 3–5, led by Ms. Ody. Singing, movement, instruments, and imaginative games build musical foundations and confidence together.

Planned for January 2027. Share your preferred class days and times in our scheduling form; the timetable will be announced when finalized. The form does not reserve a place or guarantee enrollment.

Music, movement & new friends

Each 45-minute class brings singing, movement, hands-on instruments, and imaginative musical play together. Monthly themes give children new ways to explore sound, rhythm, and creativity.

Children practice listening, taking turns, following musical patterns, and making music as a group. Activities build confidence and independence while meeting children at their own pace.

Playful learning. Thoughtful foundations.

Ms. Ody brings established approaches into DAMPA’s own curriculum: Kindermusik-inspired musical play, Orff Schulwerk’s chants and instruments, Kodály-inspired singing games, Dalcroze movement, and tonal/rhythm patterns informed by Gordon’s Music Learning Theory.

In practice, children sing, move to the beat, echo patterns, explore instruments, and create together. The fun has a purpose: listening, rhythm, pitch awareness, musical memory, and growing confidence.

Meet Ms. Ody

Odalys “Ody” Mendez is DAMPA’s Early Childhood Director. Her experience teaching young children and specialized Kindermusik training support a warm, intentional approach to musical learning.

She adapts activities to the group’s readiness and encourages children to explore, participate, and enjoy making music. Caregiver participation and class routines will be shared with the confirmed program details.

A first moment in the spotlight

As the group develops, students can prepare a shared performance for a DAMPA recital with Ms. Ody and their classmates. It offers a welcoming way to experience the stage together.

Participation follows readiness and the recital’s registration details. Growing comfortable with music-making comes first.
