Niki Fukada



VIOLIN

Born and raised in the East Bay, California, Niki Fukada began playing the violin at the age of seven. She received her first musical education from Miriam Kammen. At age ten, she was enrolled into the prestigious musical school, The Crowden Music School in Berkeley, CA studying under the tutelage of Heghine Boloyan for six years. After graduating from Crowden, she continued her musical career at the San Domenico High School in San Anselmo, CA with the award winning Orchestra da Camera studying under Wei He from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Eugene Chukhlov.

She decided to pursue a double major in college at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA in Film and Violin Performance. At Pepperdine, she studied under Alexander Treger, former concertmaster of the LA Philharmonic, and became a part of the student orchestra under the LA Philharmonic, the American Youth Symphony. She decided to transfer out of Pepperdine to Southern Methodist University her Sophomore year to study under renown soloist, Chee-Yun Kim.

She graduated from SMU with a Bachelors in Music in 2017. She just received her Masters Degree in Violin Studies this Spring of 2019 and continues her violin studies under Dallas Symphony Orchestra First Violin Principal, Diane Kitzman.

She is also a faculty member of the Chee-Yun & Friends San Domenico Music Festival at her former high school along side her teachers Chee-Yun and Eugene.
