David Brown

David Brown is a guitar teacher who was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in Wichita, Kansas, starting guitar at age 14 after being inspired first by rock artists and later by jazz musicians Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Wes Montgomery. He studied Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas before completing his BA in Music Performance cum laude at Wichita State University in 1992. Since 1990 he has taught at numerous studios, including his own, and has performed in musical theater pit bands and toured with original and cover projects. He teaches across rock, jazz, blues, classical, reggae, funk, and other genres, encouraging students to pursue the music that resonates with them.
