Rock the Canvas Meadowbrook

This art and music class will be a drop off class for PM Meadowbrook Students which will include time for each child to eat lunch before class (lunch is not provided by DAMPA).

“Rock the Canvas” is a partner class with KidArt which includes 45 minutes of art and 45 minutes of music class with Mr. Jake. The art portion typically consists of guided painting, oil pastels, some cut & paste, and even sculpture. The kids then take a quick break to clean up, wash their hands, use the restroom, and get a drink of water before music class. During the music portion, Mr. Jake leads students with his guitar playing classic children’s music such as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “ABCs” as well as contemporary music like “Happy” by Pharrell and some classic rock/pop tunes. Students will explore various instruments such as egg shakers, hand drums and tambourines. The music portion also includes a story book set to music, musical/rhythm games like Hot Potato and Musical Chairs, and the class ends with a dance party …FUN FUN FUN!!!

We will need at least 5 students enrolled in order to commence the class and it can accommodate a maximum of 15 students.

Holiday singing ensemble class for pre-schoolers with a performance. Students will have performance opportunities throughout the year to showcase what they have learned.

Music, Mommy, and  Me

At DAMPA, your baby is introduced to the joy of making music with his/her mom, dad, or caretaker. Babies play with simple instruments, such as maracas, bells, and sticks, along with songs and rhymes. Rhythmic movement nurtures the child’s musical instincts! They have fun interacting with other children while playing with music instruments.

First Movement

First Movement

First Movement brings the joy of music making and movement to toddlers. Parent or caretaker and child actively participate in singing and movement activities, as well as experimenting with many simple musical instruments including woodblocks, bells, eggs, maracas, sticks, and xylophones.

The Funkadelic Fish

The Funkadelic Fish

This class merges the love of music with physical energy. Kids, or as we like to call them, Funkadelic Fish, will learn rhythms, counting, and singing while also taking time to dance, hop, move, shake and laugh. The curriculum focuses on classic children songs but also introduces some current pop tunes to dance to. The kids will play with balls and parachutes while learning whole, half, and quarter notes. Get ready for drum circles and tambourine play. Each warm-up will be fun, physical, and is geared at teaching conducting and time signatures. This class is designed to work the brain and the body, stomping rhythms with your feet and conducting with your hands, and shaking your body while exercising your vocal chords!
