Ballet Level 1 (Ages 7 – 10) Fall 2019

Ballet techniques are at the foundation of all the arts, and for the first time DAMPA is offering Ballet to all of our students! Play an instrument or sing? Study Musical Theatre? Act for T.V. and Film? Learn how developing your own mind-body connection through this fun and dynamic class can grow your own artistry!

This level of Ballet will focus on a strong foundation in ballet technique, posture, proper body alignment, and mental focus around ballet etiquette and its applications to other art forms!

With group and private attention, this class is ideal of those with little to no experience or for those wanting to refine their techniques at a base level.

The course is designed to allow every student to develop a rich understanding of classical ballet techniques and how to apply these principles to all styles of dance!

Broadway Dance / Technique Level 2 (Ages 12 & Up) Fall 2019

This intermediate broadway dance course is designed to fully prepare students for the audition process. With technique focused warmups centered around ballet, core, and proper placement, we give our students the foundational tools to develop their own musicality and style.

Across-the-floor combinations focus on developing the technical elements of broadway dance, while an emphasis on using our body for story telling allows our students to build a vocabulary that can be used to translate the essence of each and every scene they perform.

A perfect course for any artist with some, or no experience with tap. This course focuses on developing a solid and practical foundation that can be applied to any style of tap moving forward!

Contemporary Dance

DAMPA is now offering contemporary dance classes Spring 2019! Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Dancers will work on connecting the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.

Tap classes emphasize the development and strengthening of basic tap technique and terminology highlighting the importance of rhythm and sound.

This class combines ballet and jazz for teens ages 12 and up. Dancers will work on developing jazz and ballet techniques which will focus on strength, coordination and controlled body movement. In addition, dancers will be learning important foundational elements of ballet and jazz to include grace, poise, posture and musicality.
