Recurring Payment Authorization
What You Are Authorizing
DAMPA generally operates month-to-month, year-round. When you enroll, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method automatically on the first day of each month for that month's tuition and for any other approved charges on your account, until you withdraw or revoke the authorization as described below. Some types of courses, camps and productions are charged on a flat-fee basis that covers tuition for the duration of the course, camp, or production.
Tuition is paid in advance. Keeping a valid payment method authorized is what holds your student's weekly time slot on the schedule.
How Your Payment Details Are Handled
DAMPA does not store, handle, or see your card number. When you set up recurring payments, your card details are entered directly into our payment processor's secure systems, and the processor stores a secure token that lets us request a charge. Our staff and our systems never hold your card number, expiration date, or security code. Please do not send card details to us by email or text.
We accept all major credit cards, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
What Gets Charged
- **Monthly tuition**, billed on the 1st for the month ahead, at the rate for your student's weekly lesson length.
- **A prorated first month**, if lessons begin mid-month.
- **An enrollment fee** at registration.
- **An audition deposit fee** at submission of audition materials.
- **Other approved charges**, such as sheet music and lesson books, workshop or event registration fees, production tuition, and recital or performance fees.
- **A $10.00 Failed Card Fee**, added to your account for each completed lesson that was not billed on time after DAMPA sends official notification of a failed charge.
Accounts left unresolved for a month result in the lesson being removed from the schedule until the account is current.
Changes to Amounts
Your monthly amount changes only when something about your enrollment changes — lesson length, an added or removed student, a discount, or a published rate change. We give advance notice before a rate change takes effect. DAMPA generally operates on a "school calendar" basis to define a "year". Annual rate changes, when they occur, typically are effective September 1 of that year.
Updating Your Payment Method
Contact the front desk at (833) 281-2690 or makemusic@dallasacademyofmusic.com and we will send you a secure link, or set you up at the front desk, to enter the new card directly with our payment processor. Because we never hold your card number, we cannot update it for you over the phone or from an email.
Please update your payment method before it expires or is replaced, so a failed charge and the associated fee are avoided.
Revoking the Authorization
You may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying the front desk in writing at makemusic@dallasacademyofmusic.com. Please allow us five business days before the next billing date to process the change.
**Revoking a payment authorization does not withdraw your student.** Removing or replacing a payment method stops the automatic charge; it does not release the weekly time slot, and it does not end the obligation for tuition already due. To withdraw, complete a withdrawal form and return it to the front desk by the 15th day of the student's final month, as described in our Enrollment & Tuition policy. If you revoke without withdrawing, your account will simply go past due and the lesson time will eventually be released.
