Student & Family Code of Conduct

Student & Family Code of Conduct

Why We Have This

DAMPA is a school shared by young children, teenagers, adult students, families, and faculty, often all in the building at the same time. This code describes what we expect of everyone on campus, and what you can expect of us.

What We Expect

  • **Respect for people.** Students, families, faculty, and staff treat one another with courtesy. Harassment, bullying, slurs, threats, intimidation, and unwanted physical contact are not acceptable from anyone, at any age.
  • **Respect for the learning happening around you.** Lessons are in progress throughout the building. Keep voices low in the hallways and waiting room, and keep phones on silent.
  • **Respect for the space and instruments.** Instruments, equipment, and rooms are shared. Use them carefully, clean up after yourself, and report damage rather than leaving it.
  • **Honesty about accounts and forms.** Give us accurate contact, health, and guardian information, and keep it current.
  • **Preparedness.** Students bring their notebook and materials, arrive on time, and come ready to work. Practice is where progress happens.
  • **A safe campus.** No weapons, alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco or vaping products on the premises.

Supervision, Drop-Off, and Pick-Up

Our waiting room is passively supervised and DAMPA staff are not responsible for the care of children before or after their lesson times. The full expectations for drop-off, pick-up, and children waiting on campus are set out in our Safety & Ethics policy, and they are part of this code.

We Talk First

Almost everything is solved by a conversation. If something is not working — a scheduling conflict, a teacher fit, a billing question, a concern about how your student is being taught, or something you saw on campus — bring it to the front desk or ask for a Director. Please raise it with us directly rather than with a teacher between lessons or on social media.

Our normal path is:

1. You tell us what happened, and we listen.

2. We look into it and come back to you with what we found and what we propose.

3. If it involves a teacher or another family, we bring the right people together, with a director present.

When We Have To Do More

Dismissal from the school is a last step, not a first one. DAMPA reserves the right to end a student's or family's enrollment when:

  • Behavior puts a student, family member, or staff member at risk of harm.
  • Disruption to lessons or to the campus continues after we have raised it and worked with you.
  • Anyone is harassed, threatened, or abused — in person, by phone, by text, or online.
  • An account remains unresolved after we have given notice and offered to work it out.

Where a dismissal is for behavior, we will say so plainly and in writing. Tuition already paid is handled under our Refund Policy.

We Hold Ourselves to the Same Standard

Our faculty and staff owe you the same courtesy, preparation, and honesty we ask of you. If a member of our team falls short of that, we want to hear about it — contact a director at (833) 281-2690 or makemusic@dallasacademyofmusic.com.
