Intro to Acting

Start developing the basics of acting with our Intro to Acting Course with Jeff Swearingen. Jeff will work with students on perfecting scenes by incorporating an array of techniques and approaches. Students will learn various skills and acting fundamentals such as character development, partner work, script analysis, improvisation and reacting/listening skills.

Advanced Acting

Not an acting newbie? Our Advanced Acting course with Jeff Swearingen is just what you need. In this course, students will be exercising their already learned acting skills while digging more into the heart of acting. Students will learn to get out of their head, moment to moment, though script analysis, transitions, motivation and character development. Students will be breaking down material for comprehensive understanding all while practicing truthful acting under imaginary circumstances, improv techniques, and emotional preparedness.

Improv Through Play

Little actors will be guided by the amazing Jake Nice, who has been performing and teaching improvisational comedy for more than 20 years, through exercises and activities that encourage imagination and story making based on their own experiences. Children will learn to take a situation and make it real without a script.

Budding young actors will learn techniques for confidence on camera. Our class sizes are small to encourage one-on-one learning and lots of camera time.

Building on what students have already learned from the Level 2 Film and TV Class, this Level 3 Advanced class will give students upper level, hands on experience working on front of the camera and enhancing their acting skills. Voice Over and Narration Class with CJ Critt

Host CJ Crittenden is a working Kim Dawson Talent voice artist, a former house actress and network writer for Radio Disney, a regular on the Funimation (Anime) roster and has recorded over 150 novels as ace narrator, CJ Critt. The author of numerous stage musicals, CJ hosts the WRITE STUFF, writing workshops, and NARRATE LIKE a PRO, in addition to being an senior instructor at DAMPA.

Voice Acting from A to Z – from anime to video games, Books on tape to creating the first ever DAMPA pod cast, the Fall VO intensive for experienced and pro-track actors will be an exciting playground of creative excellence and advanced fun!
