Dallas Academy of Music and Performing Arts is excited to present our first Audition Masterclass on Saturday, October 14th from 4:30pm-6:30pm!
The course is designed to give students audition-style performance experience and provide tools to help prepare for upcoming auditions. In this class, students will take turns performing their audition repertoire in a supportive, safe space for other peers as well as a rotating guest artist who will provide constructive feedback and helpful tips to aid preparation leading up to an audition.
For this upcoming masterclass we are THRILLED to be having the incredible Doug Miller as our first special guest. Doug is a superb musical theatre actor, director, choreographer, and educator based in the DFW area. He is currently the Musical Theater Conservatory Director at Dallas Children’s Theatre, where he will be directing A Charlie Brown Christmas this winter. Don’t miss this opportunity to perform and receive audition advice from a true master of the industry!!

K. Doug Miller – Doug as been educating and directing young performers for over two decades, and he's the Musical Theater Conservatory Director at Dallas Children's Theater. He has directed locally at Theatre Three, Uptown Players, WaterTower Theatre, Kitchen Dog Theatre, DAMPA, Echo Theatre, Dallas Children's Theatre, One Thirty Productions, MainStage, Our Productions Theatre Co., Second Thought Theatre, as well as several National Tours. Doug attended University of North Texas, and has received the Dallas Theatre League, The Column, Dallas Observer, and the prestigious DFW Critics Forum awards for acting and directing. Some of his favorite acting roles include The Baker in Into the Woods; Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors; Cosmo in Singin' in the Rain; and Finch in How to Succeed in Business. He is the former Performance Director/Choreographer for Barney & Friends (PBS) and is a proud union actor.
